Gaura Purnima festival
Sedro Woolley, Washington 2007

Hare Krsna Prabhus, family, friends, and associates...
Obeisances
All glories to Srial Prabhupada and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu-definitely the most merciful Incarnation of the Lord.

Here we have some photos of our Gaura Purnima festival held on Saturday March 3, Sedro Woolley, Washington.
Besides offering  our Deities over 108 preparations, which included 58 kinds of burfy, Gulab Jamuns, Saffron Sweet rice, some sweets and things others (like Noble and Dana) brought, Gauranga Sak,and various delectable mouth watering  treats, Lord Gauranaga was treated to a play of His own lila, arotik, abhisek, a short class on the teachings of Lord Caitanya, and course ecstatic kirtan for all present. And then there was the FEAST--

The play done/directed by Kanhaiya, his wife Noble and their kids- Alisha Riya and Partha, and narrated by Dharmarupa prabhu and Bhakta Bryant also had a part in it. This pastime is very instructive because its one where little Nimai brings to his brahmana home a street dog-unthinkable in those times and starts playing with it. His mother (played by Noble) was upset because no self respecting brahmana family would even think of having a dirty mutt in their ashram. But this Nimai is not an ordinary child-He is the Supreme Being playing out His pastimes. So as the story goes, his mother tricks Him to go to the Ganges and take a bath and get clean, meanwhile she gets rid of the dog. Later, that same dog is seen in Navadvipa standing up on his legs and chanting Hare Krsna much to the surprise of the local residents, as you could well imagine!! Soon later they watch the dog leave his body and a celestical chariot (seen in the photos) comes with demigods (Brahma, Siva etc) to fetch him back to the spiritual world. So the moral of the story is of course if a dog can do this, then so can we, and just see how merciful is this Nimai pandit who liberates even dogs, what to speak of humans!

After a short reading on the preface to Teachings of Lord Caitanya book, we did abhisek for the Kaliya Krsna Deity and Sudarshan Chakra maharaj salagram sila---giving Them  pancamrta and watching Them drip with these pure substances as everybody present got to offer one or more of them thru the conch shell.
Then the grand finale was passing out party poppers fireworks, those kind you can get at any party store , and to the sounds of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu ki JAYA-- on the third time-- everybody pulled their strings and POW-POW POW-- confetti was all over the place! Then complete pandemonium took place as we tried to serve out the feast in a very crowded temple room--as usual, no pictures availabe of this one.

But we do have pictures of just about everything else. Then afterwards after the major part of the crowd left, a core group of devotees had some more kirtans--and THESE were the best of the entire evening---see the last photo as most of these devotees blissfully enjoying each others association with Krsna Caitanya, the Supreme Personality of Godhead...
Hari Hari bol
your humble servants
Damaghosa /Daria--oh, I almost forgot--Daria, up late the past few nights, also made a very beautiful outfit for Gaura Nitai--Whew--am I  glad I got THAT one in...
