Hare Krsna Prabhus, family, friends, and other associates
Obeisances and respects to you all. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Sri Girihari, the lifter of the huge mountain called Govardhana. This mountain, by the way , 5000 years ago, was reported to be 64 miles long, 32 miles wide and 8 miles high into the heavens. So when little Krsna who was about 7 years old, lifted it with the little finger of His left hand, this was no small feat. Since there is no comparison in this world to anyone who ever did such a thing, this pastime of the Supreme Lord is unparalleled. Another feature we find quite humorous, is when Krsna , the Supreme Lord, began speaking atheistic philosophy to His father Nanda Maharaj, in order to stop him and all the other inhabitants of Vrndavana from performing the Indra yajna. And of course He won them all over with His Divine Charm and loving words which were simply meant to stop all other worship and seva to other lesser personalities like the demigods,in order to establish exclusive worship of Himself and His Dhama and its Govardhana mountain which He manifested as non different from Himself. All things considered, this is one of the best examples or pastimes of how the Supreme Personality of Godhead showed by example, who He is really is. So we have included some photos of our local festival, and our Govardhana "mountain" which also had a Govardhana sila atop Him. Everybody who came was very enlivened, the kirtans were especially nice, we read the story from Krsna book about this pastime, chanted Damodarastakam bhajan, everyone lighting and offering candles for the Lord, and then had the FEAST!!! And this time we actually got some pictures... Hari bol Damaghosa das chant , dance, take prasadam and BE HAPPY!!!! |
